The Historical-Literary Itinerary of Fulvio Tomizza highlights the writer and his literary work, bringing to life the characters, destinies, and events in the environment in which they were created. The literary itinerary connects historical sites and landmarks with the diversity and beauty of the landscape. The itinerary is divided into five separate trails, which are marked with signposts, blue arrows, and mapped via GPS. The project was funded by the City of Umag, the Public Education Institution from Trieste, and the Italian Union from Rijeka.

Itinerary 2: The village of Petrovija enters literature thanks to the novel “The Girl from Petrovija” (La ragazza di Petrovia) by Fulvio Tomizza. The novel was published in 1963 and is a sequel to “Materada.”
The main character of this novel, Giustina — an unfortunate girl from Petrovija — travels while pregnant all the way to the refugee camp in Padriciano (Padrič) in hopes of meeting the father of her child again…
